2011 Knaggs Choptank Tier 3 Aged Ivory

The 2011 Knaggs Choptank Tier 3 Aged Ivory is an exceptional example of early Knaggs craftsmanship, with a particularly noteworthy history. This is the actual Choptank featured in Premier Guitar's February 15, 2011 review of the Knaggs Choptank and Kenai, making it a special piece from the company's formative years. Designed by former PRS designer Joe Knaggs, the Choptank combines familiar vintage-inspired styling with distinctive boutique construction and innovative hardware. Its contoured swamp ash body features an elegant Aged Ivory gloss nitrocellulose finish, complemented by a striking wenge pickguard and nickel hardware. The maple neck features a comfortable C profile with a slight V, measuring .89" at the lower frets and .98" higher up the neck, while the cocobolo fingerboard offers a smooth playing surface with an 8.5" radius and 22 frets. Three Seymour Duncan SSL single-coil pickups deliver an impressive range of tones, from crisp, articulate cleans and classic twang to expressive, punchy overdrive. The proprietary Knaggs Chesapeake hardtail bridge contributes to the guitar's excellent resonance and sustain.
