The 2008 Martin D-18 Authentic 1937 recreates one of Martin's most celebrated pre-war dreadnought designs, combining an Adirondack spruce top with mahogany back and sides for exceptional power, clarity, and dynamic response. Built with authentic 1937 forward-shifted scalloped bracing, this guitar delivers the strong projection, articulate note separation, and woody warmth that have made pre-war D-18s so highly regarded. The substantial 1937-style mahogany neck features a period-correct barrel and heel, paired with an ebony fingerboard and traditional Style 18 inlays. Vintage appointments include a Brazilian rosewood headplate, fossilized ivory nut and long saddle, Waverly open-gear tuners, and a classic ebony belly bridge. Finished in polished gloss with aging toner on the top, this D-18 Authentic captures the character, craftsmanship, and unmistakable voice of a Golden Era Martin.
Condition: Very Good. Some light scratching throughout, and a previously installed strap button hole has been filled on the treble side of the neck.
