A Gibson Custom Shop Willcutt Exclusive Cavern Collection 1959 Les Paul Standard Murphy Lab Ultra Light Aged in Green Lemon Fade that takes the legendary feel and tone of a great R9 and pushes it into an entirely new level of resonance, responsiveness, and vintage character. Built exclusively for Willcutt Guitars through the Gibson Custom Shop, this special Cavern Collection run was designed to deliver the soul of a late-’50s Burst with dramatically reduced weight and an incredibly lively acoustic voice.

Constructed with super lightweight mahogany and a chambered body design, this Les Paul feels remarkably alive in hand. Chords bloom effortlessly with rich sustain and harmonic complexity, while single notes remain articulate and expressive with outstanding touch sensitivity. The chambered construction not only reduces weight but gives the guitar an open, resonant quality rarely found in traditional solidbody Les Pauls.

This model features a hand-selected 3A figured maple top finished in Green Lemon Fade and treated with Murphy Lab Ultra Light Aging, giving the guitar the subtle patina, light checking, and gently broken-in character of a carefully preserved vintage original.

Loaded with Willcutt-spec Cloudbuckers—underwound PAF-style humbuckers—this Cavern Collection ’59 delivers exceptional clarity, warmth, and dynamic response.
