The Lex Luthier Articles "Thoughts from over 50 years in the guitar business"

This book is based on a collection of monthly articles written by Lex Luthier, a pseudonym for Bob Willcutt, a local guitar repair person, for the Music and Entertainment Magazine (ME) published by Long Island Recording in Lexington, Kentucky between 2007 and 2011. Some of the words of wisdom, meant for guitarists, are seeded with humor that only they would understand and appreciate and maybe help them on their musical journey. There are tours inside of major and minor guitar factories ,NAMM shows, discussions about strings, woods, colors, weights, guitar care and the use of files for fretwork. Some profound revelations and remembrances are also mixed in with the technical recommendations. These topics are sometimes chosen because of interactions with, or questions from customers, so they are not in an organized linear catalog and at times repeat themselves or veer off in a new direction. Think of each chapter as a monthly conversation with your local luthier about some aspect of the guitar world. Every month when you bring your guitar by for a checkup and new strings you would talk about some of these things and it would be a totally different discussion the next time you stopped by.
