The D-28 is known as the guitar that drove much of folk, country and folk rock in the 1950s and '60s. A longtime workhorse for artists like Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Neil Young, and The Beatles, the D-28 deserves its place in history as a quintessential instrument, and leave it to Martin to make it better. The new D-28 combines features from its mid-century heyday with pre-war specs to create a guitar that possesses all the most heralded qualities of its long and storied history. Vintage appointments, open gear tuners, antique white accents and an aged top as well as forward-shifted bracing for increased resonance on the top–this is at once a very old guitar, and a completely new Martin.
