GRAMMY® Award-winning singer-songwriter Jason Isbell has built a career on raw honesty, lyrical brilliance, and a deep connection to the acoustic guitar. His latest album, Foxes in the Snow, strips everything down to its essence: just Jason, his voice, and a 1940 Martin 0-17. That pre-war guitar was the spark for the 0-17 Jason Isbell-a signature model built to honor the sound and spirit of those solo sessions. Limited to just 50 instruments, it captures the intimacy, warmth, and detail that define his latest work.

The 0 14-fret body is crafted entirely from solid sinker mahogany-reclaimed from a riverbed in Belize-for added density, harmonic complexity, and visual character. Adirondack spruce Golden Era scalloped X-bracing enhances the projection and dynamics, while the 24.9" scale length provides a relaxed, warm feel under the fingers. Articulate trebles and focused bass give this model a voice that's resonant and emotional-perfect for stripped-down songwriting or fingerstyle playing.

A sinker mahogany 1930s-style V neck with a vintage heel and standard taper adds classic character and comfort, paired with a 1 11/16" nut width. The fingerboard, straightline bridge, backstrip, and endpiece are made from premium Brazilian rosewood, one of the most revered and coveted tonewoods in Martin's history. A vintage gloss finish, grained ivoroid inlays, multi-stripe 17-style rosette, and Waverly nickel open back tuners complete the design-simple, refined, and timeless.
Whether performing solo or fronting the 400 Unit, Jason is known for his deeply human songwriting and soul-stirring performances. The Martin 0-17 Jason Isbell reflects that same authenticity-not just as a tribute, but as a tool for serious songwriters. Each guitar includes a signed paper label and comes strung with Martin strings designed in collaboration with Jason. It's an heirloom instrument with a story-and it's ready to help you tell yours.
