The L.R. Baggs Stadium DI is a studio-grade direct box and preamp for electric bass, delivering professional sound quality whether or not its effects are engaged. It can be powered by a 9V battery (roughly 100 hours of playing time), a 9V DC supply, or 48V phantom power.
At its core is a discrete, unbalanced ¼" instrument input feeding a preamp with -12dB to +26dB of gain, set easily via the built-in VU meter. The Stadium DI offers a suite of touch-sensitive tone-shaping tools: three bands of Comp EQ (low, mid, and high) that respond dynamically to your playing; a Growl control that saturates the lower frequencies for warmth and harmonic content, with a Drive button to push it into full overdrive; an Attack EQ for dialing in string clarity or taming brightness; and a Fat switch that bumps 150Hz (+3dB or +6dB) for a full low end without mud. A footswitch engages the tone-shaping section, and a master volume governs both outputs.
Connectivity includes an unbalanced ¼" line output and a balanced XLR DI output, with a pad switch (-10dBV/+4dBu) and a ground lift to eliminate ground-loop noise. Housed in a compact, road-ready 1.5 lb enclosure (6.25" x 4" x 1.75"), it carries a one-year limited warranty.
