Introduced in the late 1990s, the Gibson Songwriter Recording Artist features Gibson’s square-shoulder modern dreadnought body design and delivers the powerful, balanced tone inspired by Gibson’s legendary 1930s Advanced X-bracing and the classic 1936 Advanced Jumbo. Handcrafted in Bozeman, Montana, it features a thermally aged Sitka spruce top paired with rosewood back and sides, producing rich lows, clear highs, and excellent projection.
The 25.5" scale mahogany neck with a comfortable Round profile is topped with a bound ebony fingerboard with mother-of-pearl diamond eye inlays. Premium appointments include gold Grover open-back tuners, a bone nut, ebony bridge with bone saddle and TUSQ bridge pins, and a wide abalone rosette.
Designed for both stage and studio, the L.R. Baggs HiFi pickup system delivers natural acoustic tone with soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls for easy access. The Songwriter Recording Artist ships in a Gibson hardshell case.
