This Gibson Custom Shop 1959 Les Paul Standard Plain Top BOTB #122 Murphy Lab Light Aged is a faithful recreation of a real vintage Burst featured in the legendary book Beauty of the Burst. The “#122” refers to the exact page where the original guitar appears, and this instrument is built to capture its look, feel, and tone.
It features a lightweight mahogany body with a hand-selected plain maple top, an authentic 1959 Medium C mahogany neck, and a rosewood fingerboard with cellulose trapezoid inlays. A pair of Gibson Custombucker humbuckers delivers classic late-’50s PAF-style tone with warmth, clarity, and dynamic response.
Finished in Beauty of the Burst #122 and treated to a Murphy Lab Light Aged treatment, this Les Paul has the broken-in feel and subtle vintage character of a well-loved original.
