gibson-l-00-standard-vintage-sunburst-113-mcsbl0hfvs-22536113
Gibson L-00 Standard Vintage Sunburst (113)

Introduced in 1932, the L-00 quickly defined the sound of Depression-era blues music. Ideal for folk and fingerpicking, the L-00 Standard beautifully captures the heritage of those exemplary early instruments, now with the Gibson-exclusive, custom-voiced Baggs™ HiFi DNA™ pickup system for amplified sound that preserves the guitar’s individual character along with every nuance of the player’s touch. Boasting exceptional balance, the L-00 has impressive projection not commonly found in comparable small-body guitars.

Early adopters included Delta blues players such as Robert Johnson, while nearly a century later, the model has found a home with contemporary performers including Olivia Rodrigo. Its compact, parlor-sized body is smaller and more comfortable than a dreadnought-sized acoustic such as the J-45™, with a narrower waist providing a focused, nuanced voice with a leaner, tighter bass response that sits naturally in a mix. This responsive design is especially well suited to fingerstyle playing and blues, while remaining versatile enough for other genres and playing styles.

The L-00 Standard pairs a solid Sitka spruce top with solid mahogany back and sides. Traditional scalloped X-bracing supports the top and contributes to its balanced tone and excellent dynamic range. On the outside, single-ply binding outlines both the top and back, complementing the hand-sprayed Vintage Sunburst nitrocellulose lacquer finish and giving the guitar the instantly recognizable appearance of a classic Gibson acoustic.

The mahogany neck has a comfortable, fast-playing SlimTaper™ profile and is fitted with a rosewood fretboard with a 12-inch radius, 19 standard frets, and mother-of-pearl dot inlays. The closed-slot rectangular rosewood bridge is equipped with a TUSQ® saddle and bridge pins, with Grover® Mini Rotomatic® tuners delivering smooth operation and solid tuning stability. The traditional L-00 pickguard completes the iconic presentation.

Inside, the L-00 Standard is now equipped with the all-new Gibson-exclusive Baggs™ HiFi DNA™ pickup system. This active system uses two lightweight sensors mounted on the internal bridge plate. The sensors are matched with optimized individual preamps to deliver full-bodied, amplified acoustic tone that lets the guitar’s character and personality come through when amplified, with no impact on the unamplified tone. The Baggs HiFi DNA system offers comparable gain-before-feedback to an under-saddle pickup. The system also includes soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls that are quick and easy to access while playing, and all but invisible to your audience.

Compact, comfortable, and responsive, the L-00 Standard carries forward the character that has made Gibson’s best-known small-body acoustic a lasting favorite. It comes ready for the stage and studio in a hardshell case.

Body Shape: L-00
Body Style: Small Body
Top: Sitka Spruce
Back: Mahogany
Sides: Mahogany
Body Finish: Nitrocellulose
Binding: Single-Ply Top, Single-Ply Back
Bracing: Traditional Hand-Scalloped X-Bracing
Neck Material: Mahogany
Neck Profile: SlimTaper
Fingerboard Material: Rosewood
Fingerboard Radius: 12" (304.8 mm)
Fingerboard Inlays: Mother-of-Pearl Dots
Fret Count: 19
Frets: Standard
Scale Length: 24.75" (628.65 mm)
Nut Width: 1.73" (43.82 mm)
Nut Material: TUSQ
Pickup: L.R.
